Border Fine Arts Classic figurines have been appreciated worldwide for their incredible detail and intrinsic beauty for the past thiry years, a tradition which they are proud to continue, here in Scotland. Every figurine in the Classic Collection is entirely hand made at their Langholm Studios under the supervision of Master Sculptor, Ray Ayres. Each begins life as a series of sketches, in which every aspect of the subject matter is thoroughly explored. From these, an accurately detailed wax sculpture is created in a process which may take many months. Border Fine Arts sculptors pursue many avenues to ensure their wax sculpture will represent their chosen subject impeccably; they may consult breed or technical experts for farming scenes or they may take many detailed photographs for a wildlife study. Once an original sculpture has been approved, the wax passes into the hands of their highly skilled casters, assemblers and painters. Again, great care is taken at every stage to ensure all the original attention to detail is maintained and is faithfully portrayed.
